Baby #6 the countdown begins!

After 31 1/2 weeks of pregnancy I am finally writing about it on our blog. I wish that I would take mor time to blog at least once a week. I really do enjoy it.  Our soon to be new addition is going to be arriving in 9 weeks or in my case 10 weeks.  We do not know if the baby is going to be a boy or a girl, we thought well I thought it would be fun to be surprised. Doug just was kind enough to go along with what I wanted.  The official due date of this gift is March 28, 2011, the same week as Emma's Beauty and the Beast play, and only about 2 months away from summer vacation.  I am really excited to meet this little one, and feel that he/she is very special and is coming at the exact time appointed for him/her.  We are trying to pick a few names for both genders and of course need boy name suggestions, because we only have one boy, and are used to girls. Please comment if you have any suggestions and don't be hurt if we don't use your name.  Also please vote whether this little one is male or female, it will be interesting to see what our readers think.
The top ultrasound picture is of the babies lovely alien face looking right at the camera.  The second is the baby face down with the clear spine along the back.
Emma went with me to my 20 week ultrasound, Doctor Beck was great at explaining what we were looking at since she had never seen a live ultrasound before.  At the end the baby even played peek-a-boo, I believe we got that part on tape.  To some these are just another persons weird ultrasound pics but us they are pictures of a new life joining our family.

Spring Performances!

Emma started off the serious of concerts with her 1st- 3rd grade choir concert. They

sang all animal songs from Hamsters cannot play the piano, and All the Pretty Little Ponies, and

Never Polka with a Porcupine. She did great and has a beautiful voice. She is on the top left corner of the risers. Yeah Emma!

Alyssa and her joy school classmates peformed The Little Red Hen for their last school day at Scottie's house. They were so cute and we even had yummy banana bread after the show. This photo was during the performance of The Little Red Hen. Not I said all the animals when the little red hen

asked them to help make the banana bread.

Friends, and co cats, Alyssa and Chelsea.

Alyssa and her c0-stars. From left to right, Shayla( little red hen) , Alyssa (cat) ,

Ryan(dog) ,Scottie(dog) , Chelsea( cat), Maddie (duck).

Bryant was very patient watching his classmates perform their plays before his

big debut.

Bryan't Kindergarten Class performed several different plays

he was assigned to The Three Pigs. He played the part of the smart,

little pig that built his house out of bricks. Everyone else had to rely on his genius

to be safe from the big bad wolf.

Here is a quick video of Bryant's Performance they

sang a few songs as well as performed in their

fairy tale plays.

Kaelyn put on her own big show while "singing" to the Alivin and Chipmunks the Squeakquel the movie. She loves the music and we listen to it all the time.

Emma also had a piano recital where she played "Yankee Doodle" she has such a great musical talent and memorizes her music with no problems. Great job everyone, here's to another year of fun performances and shows.

Why oh why?

Why oh why can the house be clean in and in ten minutes flat it looks like a tornado has gone through the entire house?
Why oh why do dishes and laundry reproduce?
Why do kids have to get bigger and grow up? (Bryant is getting too big to sit on my lap to his and my disappointment.)
Why do boys ask why all the time?
Why do diets and excercise have to be so hard?
Why do they have the biggest break from school in summer? They should have it at different times depending on what state you live in.
Why am I so computer alliterate, after trying to change my blog background six times it is still Valentines Day.
Why, why, why. . .

Summertime!

We have had a great summer so far and I thought I might post a few of the things we have been doing. Each summer I say that I will take more pictures of how we spent our summer and then at the end I realize how little pictures I did take. Well there is still 3 more weeks left.

Emma and Doug found a really cool spot to hike to by Zaharis Elementarty. The rocks look like they are making a fist. The two of them got up really early one morning and hiked before it became too hot. Hopefully when it starts cooling off in 3 months we can all go as a family.

Bryant, Emma and Kaelyn have exhausted themselves playing video games. Only during the daytime, I don't let them play after 7:30 p.m. Kaelyn just always wants to join in the fun.

We of course celebrate Sara's birthday this summer as well. She just looks so adorable in this picture. I just wish she could stay this young forever.

Sara of course has followed in Alyssa's footsteps and requested My Little Pony items for her birthday. The two of them can play with all of those ponies for hours, and with Emma home it has been so fun to watch the three girls play together.

For Sara's birthday cake. Evan and Paula brought yummy cupcakes from Sprinkles Bakery. They were so delicious, just wish I could eat a whole box and not expand my waistline. I can't believe that Sara is already three.
I had that chance to go to Cub Scout Day Camp this June with the boys from our ward. It was a blast, who knew I could have so much fun. It probably helped that we had such beautiful weather. The high was only 88 degrees, and we had a lot of fun activities. I love my calling as a cub scout den mom.

Kaelyn has had fun with all of her siblings home this summer. Most of the time she enjoys all of the attention but sometimes she just wants to be herself and left alone. She just loves to ham it up for the camera.

Emma, Bryant and their dad on his 34th birthday!

Doug and his adorable five kids. Finally a picture all together!
Since Doug enjoys scrabble games so much we made him a scrabble cake. The kids had fun helping to decorate it and of course snacking on the "tiles".

Since we didn't have any birthday candles, Doug had the privilege of blowing out our lighter. We all had a hard time singing while we were laughing.

We have spent a lot of time swimming at Maren and Wayne's pool. Alyssa loves her freedom in floaties or a tube. Sara wears a vest, Bryant stays where he can touch, Emma is all over the pool, and Kaelyn thinks she is just as big as everyone else. We put floaties on her, and she just floats around and even jumps off the side. One funny thing is that she claps each time before she jumps. It is so cute.

Of course we have been finding a lot of cool drinks. Kaelyn prefers to use her cuteness to get her dad's pop from him and guzzle it down. One afternoon Doug came home from work and she was just as excited to see his QT cup as she was to see her daddy. Such a well trained child.

Our sweet boy Bryant!

Where has the time gone, I remember just yesterday I was holding my sweet baby boy and now you are all grown up. You fill our lives with all kinds of joy, excitement, pondering, and sweetness. I love how you have taught me what a little boy is like with his guns, trains and cars going all the time. You have so much energy each and everyday sometimes I wish I could bottle it up and drink it when I have no more left. Bryant has so much creativity, and engineering ablility it is amazing, you might say that he takes after both his dad, and his older sister who are also creative. He builds the best hot wheels and geo trax and comes up with fun ideas to do with any toy you give him. He loves to play spys with his friends and nerf guns, and loves his new swing set in the backyard.

Bryant loves to make all of us laugh, especially his younger sisters. You could say that he cares more about their happiness than his own. He always wants to make sure that they are always taken care of, and have what they need. He is this ways with any baby, he just loves them. Whoever he marries is going to be one lucky girl. He will be a great husband and daddy someday.

Bryant loves school, and learning. He picks up on things so quickly, and adores books. He loves to have me read about the planets and different construction vehicles. His dad gave him a set of train dvds that consist of videos of real steam engines. Somedays I feel like we live at a train station with all the train movies going and his Geo Trax or Thomas tracks set up. Such is the life of a boy. We sure love this sweet boy, he will always be close to my heart.

Our Sweet Sassy Sara!

I thought it would be neat to have a post about each of our sweet kids. Talk about each of their talents, quirks and fun things that they have done. When Sara was born we noticed that she had an incredibly long tongue, in fact Aunt Paula noticed it. Sara loves to stick out her tongue and have people copy her. I love this pictures, just wish the lighting was better. She is so adorable, happy, and sweet. There is never a day when she doesn't do something that makes me laugh.
And yes Sara that is your tongue.

Such a contemplative look. Sara is very smart, and loves puzzles. I can always seem to see the wheels in her head turning, it seems that Bryant and her have the same kind of personalities in a lot of ways. They both love to learn and ask questions, love to read books, and love their mommy. Yeah for me!

Sara loves the show Yo Gabba Gabba! This is her and Foofa from the show. If you listen carefully you can hear her sing along with each and every song. She also loves to sing a ton of other songs, and can be heard singing througout the house. I love her little voice, and hope it never leaves my memory.

Sara is definately a true girl, she loves chocolate. What more can I say, she got that from me. Sara also loves yogurt, bananas, milk, and hot dogs. Wow what a cutie with the chocolate face.

Sara loves getting her picture taken, she often brings toys over to me when I have the camera out and wants me to take their picture with her. Thank goodness she doesn't mind the camera since her mom scrapbooks. Sara definately fills our home with love, laughter, and joy. We love Sara, and are so grateful that she is a member of our family.

Raking leaves for fun?

I have always wanted to take some pictures of my kids in the fall. So one afternoon in December (our Arizona fal) while at my parents house the kids decided to rake the leaves in a big pile just to jump in them. I got some awesome shots thanks to my dads great camera. I just love how everything that my kids do seems to have a purpose for fun. Hopefully I can look at life more like that.
My kids love to play outside for which I am grateful, especially at Grandma and Grandpa Baker's house. Emma loves to swing on the rope swing, and I just found out that this is the same rope swing that my sisters and I swung on at our daddy daughter campouts. I am so glad my dad thought to save it. I love seeing the joy in my kids eyes, they are wonderful!
